Last week, I had the wonderful pleasure of meeting Ashley Nemiro, who started Mamafrica Designs two years ago. Mamafrica is an amazing non-profit organization also based in DR Congo, which provides jobs as well as an creative outlet, education, and even a day care for the extremely artistic and talented women, often single and struggling to live, in the Eastern region of DR Congo.

Music Beyond is proud to offer the fantastic bags and t-shirts made by these Congolese women, which truly highlight the artistic nature of Congolese people.  These items are made using the vibrant fabrics of DR Congo, and I must say, I was stunned by the high quality of these items! The market bags are sturdy, and even lined with a second layer of cotton on the inside. The handles are strong too, as well as the base of the bags. The clutches are a great accent piece!
